"SPAWN : ARMAGEDDON" CLEARS
THE WAY FOR NEW MCFARLANE FILM
On the strength of Namco Hometek's new
vid-game release "SPAWN : ARMAGEDDON", "Spawn" creator Todd McFarlane says a new "Spawn" theatrical feature is currently in
development. McFarlane will serve as Executive producer.
"Spawn: Armageddon" is a 3rd person title, with a storyline
encompassing the first 99 comic books from McFarlane's "Spawn" series, featuring Spawn's symbiotic costume and an arsenal
of weapons.
Encountering enemies such as 'Meat Puppet', 'Angel Warrior', 'Berserker' and 'Whip Demon', Spawn battles
his way through 23 missions with interactive and destructible environments " ... as he struggles to break free from the forces
of Heaven and Hell."
"Spawn" the comic book was first published in 1992, selling 1.7 million copies. The title is now
distributed in 80 countries and translated into 30 languages.
The character was also developed into a 1997 animated
TV series and produced as a theatrical feature.
